As the self agitation by pro-Biafra Group in the Eastern part of the country continues, the Presidency said it has mandated the Governors of the region to settle the matter and ensure peace and stability in the nation.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, stated this on Sunday while fielding questions from journalists at a programme, Special Prayers for Nigeria and Her Political Leaders put together by the Charismatic Renewal Ministries (CRM) in Abuja.
He also pledged President Buhari’s determination to win the war against Boko Haram and other criminals.
“The president is the president of the whole country. The cohesion of the country is what matters to him. So he will not isolate one and play it up above the other. He wants to see national cohesion and he is talking with the Governors in that region.
The Council of State held just on Wednesday last week and the issue of Biafra came up. Just be sure that the Government is on top of it.
President Buhari has always said you can’t administer a country you have not secured. So security is key. Nigeria is retarded, Nigeria is where it is today because of corruption. So he wants to fight corruption, put a stop to it, retrieve monies that have been stashed abroad and he is working at it. And then, he wants to revive the economy”, Adesina maintained.
The General Overseer of CRM, Dr Cosmos Ilechukwu, disclosed that the occasion was the 5th edition of “The Change We Need in Nigeria”.
“Not only the Biafran nation; I have equally heard about Arewa and Oduduwa recently. And so we are praying that God will bring about a change that will make every Nigeria feels Nigerian.
